Everyone loves caramel apples…right? Well, I have something new for you to love: my caramel apple smoothie!
Welcome to day 2 of the 13 Blogs of Halloween!
It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t include some form of caramel apple recipe in this series. Fortunately for all you caramel apple lovers out there, you may just get 2 recipes…wink wink.
Like many, I have been obsessed with caramel apples since childhood. I used to make them almost every Halloween. Now, something that I always wonder is how I can turn some of my favorite desserts into smoothies (you don’t say, Natalia? one, two).
Fortunately, thanks to dates and caramel extract, creating this smoothie wasn’t difficult in the slightest! I just love it when I come up with something that I love without testing the recipe numerous times. Sometimes, a recipe just comes to me…not usually, but sometimes.
I feel like the smoothie tastes pretty dang accurate, and I really think that anyone who loves caramel apple will love my caramel apple smoothie!
However, I do feel that I need to warn you of something: if you aren’t a fan of smoothies with a lot of texture, you may not like this. I use fresh apples and fresh dates in the recipe, making the smoothie a bit more on the chunky side. If you don’t mind the texture, I really do believe that you will love this smoothie! I hope it takes you back to all your happy Halloween memories. If you didn’t grow up with making caramel apples every year, I won’t leave you out! This is your chance to make new memories!
I hope that you enjoy this (much) healthier alternative to a caramel apple. If you are looking for a clean caramel apple recipe, that is coming soon (again, wink), but until then, here’s something a little more unique to satisfy your caramel apple cravings.
- 1 Cup Almond Milk
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 1 Green Apple, chopped
- 3-4 Medjool dates
- 1/2 Tsp Caramel Extract
- 1 Tsp Liquid Sweetener
- 1. Blend ingredients in a high speed blender for a couple minutes, until there are minimal chunks.
