It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?
Like 3 1/2 months. Whoa.
Let me tell you that I did not plan on taking as big of a break, but it was needed.
I wanted to take a month off because school was getting so hectic. I was trying to do well in some pretty difficult classes, I was interning and volunteering a lot, trying to get on a research team, applying for leadership positions, it’s been a busy, stressful, exciting few months.
I’ve been out of school for over a month, but I wanted to enjoy the summer for a bit. Don’t get me wrong, this blog was never really a job in my eyes, but I wanted to take some time to just do nothing. It felt great, but I am ready to get back to work. I still have lots of obligations and responsibilities during the summer, so I may as well just embrace the busy life! Next year is going to be dysfunctional, let me tell you.
I made a new life decision that is leading to a number of changes and transitions in my life. Initially, I wanted to get a Masters Degree and become a Marriage and Family Therapist. However, in the last couple months, this career decision felt limiting. Yes, I am interested in clinical work, but I also realized that I have an interest in research and teaching, and I would like to have more options. For that reason, I am deciding to pursue a PhD in clinical or counseling psychology. Are these fields competitive? Ohhhh yes. However, will it all be worth it? Yes. Yes it will. Read More »
