Something that you will learn about me very quickly is that I love anything that involves chocolate or peanut butter. Peanut Butter and Banana-YES! Any day of the week. Chocolate Strawberry- yes please!
It is no surprise to me that I came up with this smoothie so quickly! Sure, it took me a few times to get it right, but the effort was oh so worth it!
I realized that I have yet to share a smoothie that is intended for breakfast. My Lemon Meringue Pie Smoothie is great for dessert. My Super Simple Watermelon Kiwi Smoothie is perfect for a snack. My Chocolate Coconut Almond Butter Smoothie is wonderful as a post-workout meal (though it can work for breakfast as well). I wanted to create something that is perfect for any time of the day, but especially breakfast. Containing breakfast-friendly foods such as oats, peanut butter, bananas and strawberries, I think this smoothie makes the cut!
I have made each updated version of the smoothie for Matthew to bring to work. He works at 4am every morning, so he has little to no time to prepare breakfast. I make this for him the night before so that he can grab it before he leaves. He’s been quite the taste-tester and has given me some very useful notes-Once a recipe is boyfriend approved, it’s ready to be shared! Ok, maybe not always, but if Matthew and I both fully enjoy something, I think it’s worth posting in hopes that you enjoy it as well.
I hope that this delicious smoothie can be part of your morning routine. Packed with nutrients such as complex carbs, healthy fats, 13g of protein, and Vitamin E, it is the perfect way to kickstart your day!

- 1 tbsp carob powder (can use cocoa or cacao instead)
- 1/4 cup old fashioned oats

- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth (until the oats are well-blended and there are minimal chunks)
