You ever just get obsessed with something? I mean, who doesn’t? Right now, my obsession is matcha. What is matcha? Well, it’s green tea powder! It has 3 times the caffeine as a tea bag, but doesn’t make you shaky. I feel super alert and energized with matcha, and I just can’t get enough. Not to mention it’s super tasty! I’ve basically been obsessed with this matcha smoothie.
I used to get matcha smoothies from my local Whole Foods all the time, but then I realizes the obvious: I could save a lot more money if I just make my own. So, I started doing that. I use similar ingredients that my local WF uses, but I add some extra boosts of nutrition. Spinach and maca powder add lots of wellness to the smoothie without a ton of extra calories. This is ideal because I usually have this with my breakfast, not as my breakfast. I love this with some chia seed pudding (recipe coming sometime this week), oatmeal or anything else I am craving that morning!
If you are wondering where to find matcha, lots of specialty grocery stores will carry it. Personally, I get mine on Amazon. As of now, I do not have a definite favorite brand since I have not tried many, but I currently use DoMatcha and am liking it! If you are looking to add matcha into your diet, but don’t really love lattes or warm tea, I urge you to try my matcha smoothie. It contains super healthy matcha, and so much more!
