You ever have those days (weeks…months…) where you keep indulging, and after awhile, it starts to take its toll.
That’s been my entire Summer. I haven’t put on any weight or anything like that, but I have noticed that I just haven’t been feeling my best all the time. As delicious as Veggie Grill, Oreo caramel apples, or all the delicious, indulgent treats I share on the blog (that’s only happened one, two, three, four, five, six times), it is important to take a step back and remember how important overall health is. It’s great to indulge…I do it once a week at least! However, if we do it all the time, we might pay some long-term consequences. Weight gain, feeling sick all the time, lots of stuff that just isn’t fun.
Sometimes, it just feels nice to hit the reset button and start fresh.
This is easier said than done, as it can sometimes take up to a week to get back on track. But wouldn’t it be nice to have a shortcut?
Well, look no further than my Healthiest Smoothie on Earth!
Is this really the healthiest smoothie ever? Well, I’m sure someone has one-upped me, but this is definitely the healthiest smoothie that I make. It’s packed with fruits and vegetables and has virtually every nutrient you would ever want. I think of this smoothie as a liquid vitamin, cause I personally think it’s better to eat your vitamins and minerals as opposed to taking them.
This smoothie makes me feel like a million bucks. It is excellent for detox, energy levels, and for your skin! Every ingredient in this smoothie is great for you. This is the perfect smoothie to get in all your fruits and vegetables in one cup! Though I would recommend also eating veggie-packed meals throughout the day. I’ve never heard anyone say, “man, you eat too many vegetables”.
Now, with a smoothie this healthy and veggie-packed, you might be wondering, “Does this even taste good?”
The answer: Surprisingly Yes!
It is the most delicious smoothie I’ve ever had?
Is it still perfectly appetizing?
I add lots of fruit to add sweetness to the smoothie. Filled with antioxidant-rich pineapples, apples, and bananas, you can still get your fruity fix in a veggie-dominated smoothie!
With a smoothie as healthy as this, I really love how I feel when I drink it all the time. The best part is that my recipe is a “bulk recipe”, meaning that it is meant to be refrigerated and is enough for several servings. The smoothie is appropriate as a snack or meal replacement, depending on your preference. Personally, I like it as a mid-morning snack.
I hope you love this amazingly healthy smoothie that can assist you in getting back on track from a series of indulgences. It has come to my rescue on many occasions, and I hope it can do the same for you.
- 3 cups filtered water or coconut water
- 6 cups spinach
- 6 cups kale
- 2 cups pineapple (fresh or frozen)
- 1/3 cup cilantro
- 1/3 cup flaxseed, hemp seed or chia seeds (or combination of each)
- 2 medium carrots
- 1/2 large celery stick
- 1 Kiwi
- 2 apples, core removed
- 2 bananas
- juice of one lemon
- juice of one lime
- Add all ingredients in a high-speed blender, starting with the liquid. Blend until smooth, about 3-5 minutes (the more it blends, the more appetizing it will be). If you have a smaller blender, you may need to add a few ingredients at a time and blend as you go. This will not negatively affect the flavor/consistency.
- Once blended, pour mixture into large pitcher or glassware of choice and refrigerate.
- Can be kept airtight for about 3-5 days.
Have an amazing day and thank you for stopping by!
