Well, we survived all of my pops of color and golden bronzes to get to this point: my actual go-to look.
Now, don’t let this post deceive you, this isn’t actually something I wear 7 days a week. Most days, I experiment with different colors and techniques depending on the season. However, anytime I just don’t have time to do anything fancy, I’m not feeling creative, or I just want to do something that I know works every time, this is it. I can’t count how many times I’ve worn this look. Maybe once a week for the past 2 years. No joke.
I love this look because it works during anytime of the year, any time of day, and is easy to customize. Want to make it more neutral? Go with a less pigmented shimmery brown or wear a neutral lipstick. Want to make it more dramatic? Use the most vibrant, pigmented shades of brown you own and add some glitter in the inner corner, or wear a bold lip like I did today. Honestly, any lip color works amazingly with this look. I went with a bright pink today, but I have worn nude, light pink, orange, red, berry, and even dark purple with this look. I swear, everything works. This is the perfect look to share as we start to transition to Fall because again, it works for any season. I don’t know what it is about brown eyeshadow, but it just has a way of being appropriate for any occasion depending on what else you pair with it.
You definitely don’t have to use the same shades I used to achieve this look. Any matte browns for the crease and any shimmery brown will work. Sometimes I use different shades of brown depending on the occasion. The difference is never extreme, though.
