I decided to incorporate two of my favorite colors this week: rose gold and teal.
In the makeup world, rose gold and teal are such beautiful colors that always look gorgeous.
Now, you may wondering….how does teal look good? It’s so vibrant! Well, teal looks beautiful on the lower lash line, the upper lash line, and in the inner corner of the eye. It’s a great color to get creative with. If you’re afraid of teal, I think you should definitely step out of your comfort zone. I tried to make my look wearable, and I think I succeeded in terms of my standards…but then again, I’ve become pretty comfortable with color.
I usually just kinda wing my makeup…I gather inspiration from time to time, but I usually just get inspired by the colors I own and the season. This time is different as I was inspired by This video by Makeup by Alli. She went for a more festive look, whereas I made mine more daytime appropriate. Still, the two are definitely similar.
The one thing I did that is different from most of my previous looks is that I incorporated a more dramatic wing. I do not go for winged liner every day, but sometimes, I think it just ties a look together. Since I did not use false lashes, the look is still fine for daytime, but you could easily add lashes for a more glamorous nighttime look.
I used quite a bit of cruelty-free makeup in this look, which is awesome since you know if you have seen my previous MOTW posts that this is the long-term goal for me. I hope to have a vanity filled only with cruelty-free and vegan makeup…I just have to use some stuff up first since I don’t like to waste. (This is widely accepted in the vegan community)
Unfortunately, my skin has been on the bumpier side. I think I am having a reaction to a product I tried. I have acne-prone and sensitive skin, so I really have to be careful with what I use. Lots of ingredients break me out. I’m still working on it.
Going vegan has helped my skin immensely, but it is still far from perfect. It takes time for skin to heal and I need to find more products that agree with my skin. Don’t assume that all vegans have perfect skin…not always true (I wish).
Here is the full list of products I used:
Covergirl Stay Fabulous Foundation (I recently decided to throw out all my drugstore foundations, so this will be the last time I use this in a post…only 2 more non cruelty-free foundations to go!) mixed with Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Hard Candy Tiki Bronzer to highlight
All Eyeshadows used are from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
Transition: Limit e/s
Crease and Lower Lashline: Nooner e/s
Lid: Trick e/s
Inner Corner and Lower Lashline: Strange e/s
Waterline: Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Deep End
Maybelline Black Gel Liner (only black gel liner I own at the moment)
I am a total sucker for looks that incorporate a pop of color while still being wearable. I hope you have the chance to try this look or at least go for something similar! You’d be surprised how easy it is to pull off!
I hope you have an awesome weekend! It happens to be my birthday weekend, so I’ve got a busy (but super fun) few days ahead!
