I’m totally reading your mind. I know that all you wanted was a recipe for a delicious, healthy, orange creamsicle smoothie. So you’re welcome…wait? I think I’m just reading my own mind.
Still, I think that this smoothie can make its way into your life. I just happen to be obsessed with it at the moment. When I first found this recipe on Pinterest, I knew I had a winner. Buttttttt I did want to put my own spin on it. And so I did.
The results: a super creamy, cold, & sweet glass of orangey goodness. Everything I want in the middle of August
I decided to go for fresh orange juice instead of store-bought. I just think it really gives the smoothie a fresh flavor! With only 5 ingredients, this smoothie is simple, and makes for the perfect treat that is quick and refreshing. It’s been my addiction these last few weeks, it’s just that good! What I like most about it is that the orangey flavor is not overpowering in the slightest. To me, the flavor is just right. Feel free to add more or less orange juice depending on your taste preferences- remember, I may share the recipe, but you can do whatever you’d like to it!
Out of everything I’ve shared this Summer, this is the one that reminds me the most of everything that has happened this Summer. Hiking, water parks, ADELE!!!, Seaside, Canada, Mariner’s Games and of course, playing way too much Pokemon Go (it’s a problem)… and there is still more to come! I have 3 5Ks coming up, and a few concerts including Bumbershoot. I have had such a fun, exciting, and relaxing Summer. Just being able to be in the sun and taking some time to enjoy myself has meant the world to me. In about 6 weeks, I will be back to being super stressed in school (but Fall is my favorite season, so it won’t be all bad), so smoothies like these are reminding me of how nice it is to enjoy the Summer season! In the next few months, the sunshine will be gone, I’ll be way busy with school and moving (most likely), and I may not have as much time to just relax outside with a refreshing treat. That’s ok, though. You have to take the good with the bad, and I’m realizing that even my most stressful times aren’t bad at all because they are helping me get to where I want to be one day. Still, as much as my hard work is worth it, sometimes I just need to relax. My Orange Creamsicle Smoothie is what gives me the comfort of Summer, and while I have a feeling that I won’t be as into orange-flavored anything in the Fall, from now on, if I ever need something to cheer me up and help me feel relaxed, I think this could be my go-to.
Whether you are stressed out or currently relaxing on a tropical island, my Orange Creamsicle Smoothie is perfect for any occasion. BTW, it’s super healthy, making it virtually guilt-free. The best treats are the ones that you can feel good about having because it is helping you as opposed to harming you. I don’t think anything beats that.
- 3 Frozen Bananas
- 1 Cup Almond Milk
- Juice of 4 Medium Oranges
- 2 Tbsp Orange Zest
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- Add Ingredients to a high-speed blender, and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
I am running 2 5Ks this weekend, and I really want someone to wait for me at the finish line holding a jar of Cookie Butter and a bag of caramel corn. Any takers? Hehe, joking.
