What a month!
This has been such a busy time in my life, and yet, I have still found time for yoga. I practice almost every day, which is the best my practice has been so far. I used to practice 3-4 times per week, and now, I practice 5-6 days.
In terms of successes and accomplishments, I am noticing a difference in my strength. I used to really struggle in side plank, and now, I am able to hold myself up without any real difficulty. I am still not able to grab my leg in side plank, but that can be a work in progress. I am, however, able to go from three-legged dog, to wheel, back to three-legged dog. That may make no sense if you aren’t familiar to yoga, but I was very proud of myself for this.
My biggest accomplishment, however, is how yoga is affecting my life off the mat. I am finding myself to be more patient and more determined. I have been better about being optimistic, hopeful, and hardworking. I set goals for myself everyday, and I celebrate the little accomplishments.
Some days, I am so excited to practice and just love my time on the mat. Other days, I struggle. That’s normal. I just try to treat everyday as an opportunity, and I realize that everyday will be different.
I am really enjoying my practice, and I am going to continue it throughout the school year. I used to neglect yoga because I was so busy with homework and the stress got the best of me, but I am going to commit to my fitness routine, and yoga will be part of my day, everyday as long as I can help it. If I want something badly enough, I’ve got to make it work.
I’m looking forward to furthering my practice and continuing to learn as much as I can about myself and the benefits that yoga will bring to me.
