For the last few months, I have been really getting into yoga. I just love how challenging it is, along with how amazing I feel after. I have grown so much since practicing consistently, and I want to talk about my progress on a monthly basis. Yoga has made such an amazing impact on my life, and I feel like I just have to talk about it and track my journey.
The months of June and July have been so important! I feel like I am finally starting to see a big difference in my balance, strength, and flexibility. My body is able to do things that I never knew it could do. It has made me more self-aware. Everyday, I feel like a new person, and I honor the person that I am each day. Somedays I feel like I am on a roll, other days I struggle. Either way, it’s all a part of my journey. I feel like I can apply this to my life outside of yoga. Everyday will be different, but acceptance makes life easier. I think of everything that I’ve been through this last month, that will be the number 1 lesson that I will take with me.
Mermaid Pose. I have always felt comfortable in pigeon pose, but being able to accomplish this pose really marked the beginning of a passion with yoga. Who doesn’t love seeing results from hard work?
I used to despise camel pose, but I have grown to appreciate the sensation.
After months of practicing, can finally hold King Pigeon. I felt so excited to finally get into the pose that I just want to keep building on it. I am grateful for the 5-minute playtime that my instructor gave us, because I don’t think that I would know that I could do this without it.
I am still not able to get into wheel pose by lifting myself up. However, the method of going into 3-legged dog and flipping the dog has made Wheel possible for me, which has been excellent in helping me build strength.
This last month has been amazing, and I feel like it’s only up from here. I can’t wait to keep practicing (almost) everyday. I have made so much progress in a month, and I can’t wait to see where I’ll be next month. I’ll keep you posted.
If you haven’t taken yoga, I highly recommend it. It is a wonderful way to build strength and become more flexible. Even a gentle yoga class is amazing because you feel so stretched out when you leave.
Whether you take yoga all the time or have no intention to, I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, and I will see you in August (tomorrow. I have a post coming tomorrow).
